Diabetes

Many people suffer from diabetes, a condition caused by the body’s inability to produce or use insulin and leading to high blood sugar levels that can be difficult to control. Some symptoms can be controlled with diet and exercise, but in severe cases, sufferers need oral medications and even insulin injections. Sufferers complain of fatigue and irritability, frequent urination, episodes of urgent thirst or hunger, and in extreme cases, vision problems, kidney problems, and numbness, tingling, and pain in the hands and feet.

Few individuals suffer from diabetes so severe that they automatically qualify for Social Security benefits. Many people suffer from some limitations in their ability to perform the physical and mental requirements of work and have to prove that their symptoms are so severe that they cannot perform the requirements of any job.

The Social Security Administration looks for evidence of how your diabetes affects your daily activities (are you limited in how you perform even household chores, have you had to give up hobbies, do you need to nap frequently); what you’ve done to try to improve the problem (diet and exercise, checking blood sugars regularly, using medications as prescribed); and other factors.

We win many diabetes cases, and we want to win yours.
