Jonathan Caver

Jonathan Caver grew up in the Chicago area.  He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy from Miami University (Ohio) in 1992, his Master of Arts in philosophy from Stony Brook University in 1997, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan in 2006.  He was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 2006. Before starting his career in law, Mr. Caver taught moral, social, and political philosophy, and analyzed legislation for the Michigan House of Representatives.  During law school, he interned at Legal Services of South Central Michigan and Northwest Workers’ Justice Project where he advocated for low-income clients in their legal disputes with landlords, employers and creditors.  Mr. Caver recently became Merrill Schneider’s junior partner in the practice of Social Security law.  He sees winning benefits for his clients not only as a way of helping them financially but also as a way of helping restore their dignity.  Outside of work, Jonathan enjoys reading and spending time hiking and biking with his wife and daughter.
